Mayor Fulop with VeteranThe Fulop Administration  has made it a priority to expand opportunities for veterans, as proven with the building of the first-ever housing for homeless veterans.  Jersey City's Office of Veterans Affairs assists local veterans not only with finding housing, but also applying for Veterans Administration claims, health issues, small business loans, education benefits, survivor benefits, civil service benefits, home ownership benefits, information on pensions and compensation, death, burial and related benefits, New Jersey Veterans Memorial Homes, counseling, assistance in obtaining military service records,awards, or medals to which a veteran is entitled, among other services.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Jersey City Vets enjoy a lunch.
Staffed full-time by two combat veterans of the Vietnam War, the Office of Veterans Affairs is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  While no appointment is necessary, it is suggested visitors call ahead before dropping in to ensure they get the help they need.
