JC MetermaidIn 2017, Jersey City’s unemployment rate reached a 25-year low, dipping below 4%.  That’s a vast improvement since 2013 when Mayor Fulop inherited a 9.7% unemployment rate.  Today, Jersey City’s economic efficacy continues to strengthen, growing businesses and therefore more job opportunities.

Jersey City Youth Works started as a summer initiative whose rapid success led to the program’s expansion into year-round job opportunities in municipal departments and agencies citywide.  Youth Works provides City youth, ages 15-24, with a productive career path they might not otherwise have been exposed to.  Click here to learn more.
