SNOW REMOVAL
Equipped with 85 salt spreaders and plow trucks, Jersey City's DPW is responsible for clearing the roughly 200 miles of city-owned streets of snow and ice during and after a storm. Several salt domes position throughout the city are stocked with upwards of 6,500 tons of salt at any time. Operations out of the City's OEM and DPW Snow Command Centers enable for swift and efficient removal of snow and ice hazards.
Municipal code requires business owners and residents to clear sidewalks of snow and ice within 4 and 8 hours (respectively).
