Human Resources supports current and prospective Jersey City employees to foster a dedicated workforce that provides the highest quality service to our city and its residents.

The department is composed of two primary divisions:

Division of Employee Relations & Strategic Workforce Management

This division focuses on career life cycles, internal growth, and workplace standards.

Prospective Employees: Assists candidates with finding and applying for available employment opportunities.

Current Employees: Supports career advancement through Jersey City's internal growth program, Grow Forward.

Labor & Employee Relations: Manages and resolves workplace and labor-related matters.

Specialized Offices:

HR Technology: Drives modern technological advancements across the department.

Risk Management: Ensures compliance with rigorous employee health and safety standards.

This division directly assists Jersey City employees in navigating their health and retirement plans to find the perfect fit.

Health Benefits: Guidance and advisory services on various health enrollment plans.

Pension Information: Support regarding retirement planning and pension details.
