The Purchasing Division works with businesses in an ethical and effective way to provide goods and services to the city in support of day-to-day operations. We find the highest quality at the best price, following the rules and regulations of the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11 - et seq). We support minority-owned, woman-owned, and local businesses wherever possible.
The Condensed Version of the Purchasing Process:
- The Purchasing Division supervises the bidding process by advertising bids for goods or services
- Interested businesses submit quotes or bid proposals
- Purchasing agents review submitted quotes or bid proposals
- Purchasing agents award contracts to vendors on behalf of the city
