Mission Statement
The Office of Aquatics & Facilities is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and programming of the City’s pools, splash pads, and ice rink. Our mission is to provide safe, accessible, and high-quality aquatic and ice-based facilities and programs for residents of all ages and abilities. This includes year-round pool operations, seasonal aquatic facilities, swim instruction, water safety education, recreational skating, and hockey programming. We are committed to the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, professional staffing, and facility operations while promoting public health, skill development, and lifelong participation in aquatic and ice recreation.

Vision Statement
To provide a safe, modern, and inclusive aquatics and ice rink system where every resident can learn, exercise, skate, and enjoy year-round recreational facilities. We strive to expand swim education and ice-based programming, enhance public health, and continually improve our pools and ice rink to meet the community's needs.

In the winter, residents can enjoy public skating and learn-to-skate programs at the Charlie Heger Ice Skating Rink at Pershing Field.

All pools are free for Jersey City residents.
Non-resident fees at Lafayette Aquatic Center
$6 weekdays, $8 weekends; seniors $2 daily.

Monday–Friday:
• 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Adult Swim
• 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Family Swim
• 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Family Swim
• 3:30 PM – 5:15 PM: Swim Lessons (no public access)
• 5:15 PM – 6:30 PM: Family Swim

Saturday & Sunday:
• 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM & 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Family Swim
