Mayor Fulop Announces New Pfizer Walk-in Vaccine Site in Ward B Now Open to Ages 12+ with 6,000 Vaccines at the Ready
JERSEY CITY - Mayor Steven M. Fulop joins the Jersey City Department of Health and Human Services to announce the newest City-run vaccination site opening at 10 a.m. today at the Maureen Collier Senior Center in Ward B with 6,000 Pfizer vaccines available to residents, students, and workers in Jersey City ages 12 and up, following the federal government’s expansion of age eligibility to include 12- to 15- year-olds. Per federal guidelines, guardian consent will be required for anyone under 18.
Vaccine appointments can be made
online or through the City’s call center at (201) 373-2316. Walk-ins are also welcome.
“We’re seeing our infection rates drop to some of the lowest levels in over a year, all as a result of people getting vaccinated,” said Mayor Fulop. “We are prepared to open this new walk-in Pfizer site just hours after the CDC approved the age expansion because we are constantly working to be proactive and expand our efforts to make sure everyone eligible has access to a vaccine. We will also start offering Pfizer at our Ferris High School site beginning Monday.”
The Maureen Collier Senior Center, located at 335 Bergen Avenue, will be open as a vaccination site Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This weekend the Collier Center will remain open on Saturday, May 15th, to invite more people to get vaccinated.
Beginning Monday, May 17th, the Ferris High School vaccination site will also offer Pfizer. The Ferris site is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“As we get more vaccine allotments, we’ve been able to significantly expand our efforts to reach every population within our diverse City, and we have no intention of slowing down,” said Stacey Flanagan, Director of Jersey City’s Department of Health and Human Services. “In fact, despite a nationwide decrease in vaccine demand, Jersey City has maintained zero percent waste as a result of our aggressive outreach efforts.”
Unaccompanied minors must bring an informed consent form signed by a parent or guardian. The form can be downloaded

To date, Jersey City has administered nearly 200,000 vaccines. The City-run vaccine operations are expanding every day to accommodate more people, with eight sites spanning Jersey City, extended operating hours, a Mobile Unit, walk-in availability, and pop-up sites targeting hard-to-reach populations. The administration is also leveraging community partnerships to maximize outreach and access.
