Pursuant to Municipal Ordinance 17-022, residents may register their property with the Municipal Clerk to be placed on the No-Knock Registry indicating they do not want canvassers, distributors, solicitors, peddlers, transient merchants or hawkers to approach their homes and/or seek person contact with the occupants of the registered residence. A No–Knock decal must be displayed in a clearly-visible location (e.g., front door or window adjacent to the front door). The property shall remain on the registry unless the owners or occupants notify the Municipal Clerk in writing that they wish the property to be removed from the registry.

The first decal shall be provided free of charge and may be picked up in person during regular business hours. If requested by mail, a $1.00 fee per decal is applied. If a replacement decal is requested, it is available for pick up in the Office of the City Clerk for a cash fee of $5.00. If requested by mail, an additional $1.00 fee per decal shall be applied. All mailed in checks or money orders must be made payable to the City of Jersey City. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:18-3, any owner or occupant who has listed his or her property on this registry shall be deemed to have revoked any express or implied legal privilege or license to enter or attempt to enter the premises.
